Get to know Porter

Porter is a dedicated 15-year-old sophomore at Northstar Academy, an online school where she excels in math and science. Under the expert guidance of Brooke Gardner Performance Horses in Kansas City, Missouri, Porter has developed a strong focus on all-around AQHA competition. Her passion for both Western and English

all-around events is evident in her impressive achievements.

In her first year with her gelding, Mamas Boy, she has experienced extraordinary growth and success. Together, they have earned numerous accolades in 2024, showcasing their talent and hard work:

National AQHA:

  • 3rd Level 2 Youth Exhibitor of the Year (12-14)

  • 10th Level 2 Youth Exhibitor of the Year (All Ages)

  • 8th Rookie Youth Hunter Under Saddle

  • 12th Level 1 Youth Western Pleasure

State:

  • Level 2 Youth Exhibitor of the Year - Missouri

Missouri Quarter Horse Association:

  • Champion: Level 1 and Rookie Youth Hunter Under Saddle

  • Reserve Champion: Level 1 Youth Western Pleasure and Youth Hunter Under Saddle

  • Bronze Champion: Rookie Youth Horsemanship and Rookie Youth Hunt Seat Equitation

Dedicated to excelling in the arena, she will attend the MQHA Show-Me Success Clinic with Sara Simons this spring, a vital step in her preparation for the Level 1 Championship East in April 2025.

In addition to her riding, Porter is a Director at Large in the Missouri Quarter Horse Youth Association. She is also an active member of the youth group serving at Pomona Christian Church in Pomona, Missouri and surrounding communities.

Porter is a dedicated student with aspirations to pursue an undergraduate degree in either architecture or engineering. Her commitment to both her academic and equestrian pursuits demonstrates her exceptional work ethic and determination.

Porter is well-prepared to take on the challenges of collegiate competition and beyond. She looks forward to continuing her journey as a prospective NCEA student-athlete, bringing her passion, skills, and dedication to the next level.
